Privacy Policy for Waiting On

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Waiting On Android application, package name com.mastermystery.waitingon.

2. Information you enter into Waiting On

Waiting On does not require a Waiting On account, sign-in, profile, name, phone number, address or payment information. Mystery Box does not operate a backend server for Waiting On.

Information you choose to enter may include item titles, categories, dates, contact or organization details, reference or tracking numbers, notes and completion status. This information is stored in the app's private local storage on your device and is used for tracking, reminders and widget features.

Waiting On does not intentionally send task titles, notes, contacts, reference numbers or other task content you enter to Mystery Box, Google Mobile Ads or advertising partners.

3. Advertising

Waiting On uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) for two placements: an anchored adaptive banner at the bottom of the main task dashboard, and an optional rewarded advertisement when you first choose to unlock a task for placement in the Waiting On home-screen widget.

Creating, editing and managing tasks and reminders do not require watching a rewarded ad. After you earn the reward for a task, Waiting On stores a local flag indicating that the task is permanently unlocked for widget use. Removing and later re-adding that same task does not require another rewarded ad.

When an ad is requested or displayed, Google and advertising partners may process information such as IP address, device or app information, advertising identifiers where available and permitted, network information, consent signals, ad impressions, clicks and other ad-interaction data. The exact information processed depends on device settings, consent choices, location, applicable law and Google's advertising configuration.

4. Consent and privacy choices

Waiting On integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to obtain or refresh advertising consent information where required. Consent information is refreshed when the app launches. If applicable, Google may present a privacy or consent message before ads are requested.

Where Google's SDK indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required, Waiting On provides an Ad privacy choices option in Settings so you can review or change applicable advertising privacy choices.

Waiting On does not use a Mystery Box analytics service or maintain a server-side advertising profile of its users.

5. Internet access

Waiting On requests Internet and network-state access because a connection is required to load Google consent messages, the dashboard banner and optional rewarded advertisements.

The task database, status calculations, reminders and widget task content remain local features. Advertisements require network access, and a first-time widget unlock requires a rewarded ad to be available.

6. Notifications and reminders

If you create a follow-up date and enable notifications, Waiting On may request Android's notification permission. Reminder scheduling is performed locally on your device.

You can disable reminder notifications in the app's Settings screen or through Android's application notification settings.

7. Home-screen widget

Waiting On provides one shared, scrollable home-screen widget containing the tasks you explicitly select for it. A task must first be unlocked for widget use through the rewarded-ad flow described above. The unlock state and current widget-selection state are stored locally on your device.

If the shared Waiting On widget already exists, selecting a task adds it to that widget. If the widget is not yet present, Waiting On can ask the Android launcher to pin the shared widget after the task is unlocked. The launcher may require user confirmation.

Widget content is generated from locally stored task information. Task text shown in the widget is not uploaded to Mystery Box for rendering the widget.

Because widgets are visible on your launcher, information shown in a widget may be visible to anyone who can view your unlocked home screen. You control which unlocked tasks are shown and whether to add, resize or remove the widget.

8. Data sharing

Waiting On does not sell the task information you enter into the app. Mystery Box does not intentionally share your task titles, notes, contact details, reference numbers or reminder information with advertising networks.

Google Mobile Ads, UMP and advertising partners may receive or process advertising- and consent-related information as described above. Their processing is governed by their own terms, policies and your applicable consent choices.

Information may also be disclosed if Mystery Box is legally required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or a valid governmental request. Because Mystery Box does not operate a server containing your task database, it normally does not possess that local task data.

9. Data retention, backup and deletion

Waiting On task data, widget unlock state and widget selection state remain in app-private storage on your device until you delete an item, clear the application's storage or uninstall Waiting On.

Waiting On disables Android application backup for its local app data. There is no Waiting On user account or Mystery Box server-side task database to delete.

Advertising and consent data processed by Google or advertising partners may be retained according to their own policies and legal obligations.

10. Security

Waiting On minimizes exposure of task content by storing it in Android app-private storage and not intentionally transmitting that content to the advertising SDK. No device, network connection or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so avoid entering sensitive information that is not necessary for your tracking purpose.

11. Children's privacy

Waiting On is a general-purpose productivity utility and is not specifically directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum digital-consent age in a user's country. Mystery Box does not knowingly request personal information directly from children through a Waiting On account or backend because the app has neither.

12. Your choices

You can choose what information to enter, whether to set reminders, whether to allow notifications, whether to unlock a task for the widget, which unlocked tasks appear in the widget and when to delete an item.

Where available, use Settings → Ad privacy choices to review applicable Google advertising privacy options. You can remove all locally stored Waiting On data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the application.

13. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application's features, legal requirements, advertising configuration or data practices change. The revised policy will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
